5 Amazing Ways The Calgary Marketing Association Welcomed In Summer

#1   Threw a Sellout party for Calgary’s Marketers

With a room filled to capacity with marketers – from students to CMOs – it may have looked like fall outside on the Eve of the first official day of summer, but we were thinking of long days filled with warm weather.

#2   Welcomed our New Members at an exclusive pre-party reception

The CMA has welcomed a record number of new members in this last quarter! Corporate, individual and student members attended to be a part of our first ever New Members’ Reception. And what better way to understand that we are actually a part of something special than to meet fellow newbies and learn a little bit about the past, present and future of the Calgary Marketing Association!  If you missed it, don’t worry.  We will be holding another one in the Fall.

#3   Introduced Calgary’s marketing community to a new venue right in the heart of the Beltline district

The Residence Inn by Marriott Beltline, just opened its doors, and guests were not only treated to the Hearth Room and Bar, but Marriott representatives were available for site tours.  The guests that took advantage of this opportunity were both surprised and delighted!

#4   Ate and Drank and Talked Marketing

We know it’s hard to converse when your mouth is full of food… but this menu made it hard not to!  The CMA and Marriott partnered to introduce a Happy Hour drinks and food menu.

Have you ever heard of Da Vinci Rolls? When was the last time you had really, really good “homemade” chips? If you joined us on Thursday… you know what we’re talking about.

#5   Hung out with some of the coolest nicest ATB folks you will ever meet.

Thanks to ATB for Sponsoring our Hello to Summer Marketing Mixer! John Pieri and his team were not only the life of the party and some of the last guests to leave, but CMA guests were able to speak first hand to award-winning marketers, who work for a corporation voted Best Workplace in Alberta & Best Employer in Canada

Thanks to our Board members Jeff Lowe, Rob Fairhead and Erin Hill and President Cidnee Stephen for making this evening move and shake. Thanks to Jacqui Hickman for your picture taking and amazing social media coverage. Thanks to our volunteer Barb Pastuszko for holding down the front-of-house. Thanks to the Marriott staff for creating an awesome venue.

And, many thanks to the Calgary Marketing Community for helping to fulfill our CMA Purpose to Build Better Marketers.
