Join the momentum. We are currently seeking a Senior Director, Creative Services to join our award-winning Marketing team. MNP is a leading national accounting, consulting, and tax professional services firm. Promoting and positioning the firm for success, our Marketing team supports the growth, business-generating efforts and goals of MNP. We strategize, develop and deliver strategic creative programs that translate the firm’s objectives into market-appropriate messages, media and methodologies. We build and protect our brand in new and existing markets, as well as create and sustain a marketplace advantage in all service lines, client groups and corporate initiatives.


Based in our firm’s National Head Office in Calgary, and reporting to the Senior Vice President (SVP), Marketing, the Senior Director, Creative Services will be a key, strategic manager leading a high performing, collaborative and fun team of marketing professionals.

The Senior Director will lead the Creative and Digital Marketing teams, who operate as an in-house agency, in creating and executing the firm’s traditional, digital, video and social media marketing campaigns and programs. They will be responsible for, and work in collaboration with, department managers and staff to ensure quality and consistency in MNP brand standards while providing leadership and support for all day-to-day marcom and strategic initiatives.

The successful candidate will possess exceptional strategic thinking skills and have in-depth experience with marketing communications tools and methodologies. They will have experience with complete rebrand, strategic campaign creation and execution, and media selection and buying in all media channels.

Performance Expectations

Develop and Lead Creative Communication Strategies in Support of Marketing Plans

  • Provide leadership and support for day-to-day marketing communication and strategic activities
  • Envision and oversee the creation and maintenance of all brand and creative assets to support MNP’s brand strategy
  • From concept to launch, direct campaigns and/or materials in support of business unit marketing plans
  • Bring vision and support to the Digital Marketing team to optimize digital media strategies
  • Maintain creative direction in traditional and digital media formats
  • Collaborate with internal clients, stakeholders and leaders to translate strategic business and marketing objectives into creative execution
  • Manage and monitor budgets needed to create various projects
  • Research opportunities to further promote MNP and business units
  • Liaise with the Senior Director, Marketing Strategy and the Senior Directors of regional marketing

Lead Project Team in the Development of Creative Communication Solutions

  • Maintain a high performing and collaborative team by leading and engaging writers, graphic designers and video production and digital media professionals
  • Mentor, motivate and coach team members towards professional and personal development by setting clear expectations, providing feedback and addressing performance issues promptly
  • Conduct formal, written annual performance reviews
  • Benchmark practices with industry standards; make recommendations based on market trends

Professional Development

  • Develop a thorough understanding of MNP’s services, client groups and industry trends
  • Contribute to the development of new ideas and approaches to ensure efficient work processes
  • Regularly attend conferences, webinar discussions and forums to ensure up-to-date marketing subject matter expertise


  • Completion of post-secondary education in creative design and/or digital marketing
  • Minimum ten (10) years of experience in a senior level marketing role within an agency, corporate or professional services environment (experience within a marketing agency preferred)
  • Creative writing and design background is a definite asset
  • Demonstrated experience in rebranding and brand design, interactive design, digital media, creative communication, strategy development and team leadership
  • Proven ability to develop strategic campaigns from concept to completion
  • Familiarity with a wide range of advertising mediums and understanding of how to effectively apply creative concepts to them
  • Experience in media selection and buying in all media channels
  • Strong business acumen with a creative and project manager mindset
  • Experience with online digital marketing tools and web-based technologies (e.g. Sitecore, SharePoint)
  • Hands on experience with SEO/SEM and CRM software
  • Strong computer literacy including effective working skills of presentation software such as PowerPoint, Prezi or similar
  • Extensive working knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud, specifically InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop, Premiere and After Effects
  • Experience using project management tools (e.g. Workfront, Digital Asset Management system)
